Google Pay

The Google Pay mobile app is not a product of the Bank, but a platform through which PBZ customers are provided with additional functionality and a fast, easy and secure way to perform payment transactions. The application uses NFC technology for contactless payments.

If you are a PBZ digital banking user, you can arrange Google Pay for Visa Inspire card within the PBZ digital banking mobile application.

On mobile phones suitable for use with this application, Google Pay is downloaded from a virtual store.

Privredna banka Zagreb clients, Visa Inspire current account card users can arrange Google Pay service and card virtualization in two ways:

• via PBZ digital banking
• via the downloaded Google Pay mobile app from the Google Pay Virtual Store

Premium Visa card users can arrange Google Pay service and card virtualization via the downloaded Google Pay mobile app from the Google Play Virtual store.

If you are a client of Privredna banka Zagreb and you are not a user of PBZ digital banking, contract it at any PBZ branch office and take advantage of a unique user experience on all devices as it is a modern, fast, easy and secure way to conduct payment transactions and contract new services and products according to offer the Banks.

You can use Google Pay on your mobile phone running Android version 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher. To be able to download and use Google Pay, your mobile phone must have a NFC module installed and must have a factory-installed, unmodified Android operating system. In the event of any unauthorized modifications, Google Pay will automatically deactivate your signed up payment card and any payments will be permanently disabled.

The client in the mobile device settings must determine how to unlock the mobile device with a password, pattern, Touch ID or Face ID. If no security check is set to unlock your mobile device, your card will not be able to be credited to Google Pay.

When a client using Google Pay deletes the security check option to unlock the device in their mobile device settings, they automatically delete the card from Google Pay. The client will need to enter the card in the application as it did when they first logged in to use the Google Pay service again.

Can the same card be entered into the Google Pay app on multiple mobile devices?

Yes. One customer can insert their card into the Google Pay app on multiple mobile devices. When registering a payment card in a mobile device, it will be tokenized (the card number takes the form of a token that is unique and cannot be linked to the actual data from the card), which further raises the security aspect of the entire service.

Is Google Pay secure payment method?

Yes, because payment card data is tokenized and the token is unique by device and cannot be linked to actual payment card data. Real payment card information is never shared with merchants or transmitted in a payment transaction, thereby preventing fraud or misuse.

Which cards of Privredna banka Zagreb can be included in Google Pay?

Google Pay is currently available for Visa Inspire current account denominated kuna and Premium Visa cards (Premium Visa Infinite, Premium Visa Platinum, Premium Visa Gold i Visa Business Platinum). Other debit and credit PBZ cards will also be included in Google Pay in the near future, which will be notified to you in due time.

How many cards can I include and use with Google Pay?

As much as you want! There is no limit to the number of cards stored in the Google Pay app, nor is there a limit to the number of devices on which one card can be stored.

There is no fee for using Google Pay.

Google Pay shares limits with a physical card, which means that a daily customer can pay the app as much as a physical card.

How do I use Google Pay and include a Visa Inspire card?

• download the Google Pay app on your Google Play Virtual Store
• in the Google Pay app, tap the + sign to add a payment card to your mobile phone
• place your Visa Inspire card in the camera frame to enter your card information automatically. Enter the security code on your card and additional information as needed
• accept the Terms of Service and set a screen lock. (Activating device administrators is part of the Google Payments setup process.)
• you will receive a one-time password (OTP) via SMS to activate the Google Pay Service, which becomes ready for use immediately. Alternatively, you can contact the Bank's Call Center, which (after verifying the user's identity) will activate the Google Pay service

How to use Google Pay service and include Visa Inspire card - for PBZ digital banking users?

• in the PBZ mobile banking app, select Cards from the menu
• from the My Cards menu, select Debit Card and the Add to GPay icon
• read and accept the Google Pay Terms of Service
• select the Continue icon to complete the process of adding your Visa Inspire card of PBZ current account to Google Pay
• after successful activation, the Visa Inspire card has been added to Google Pay and you can pay contactless via Google Pay at points of sale

Will the Google Pay app be automatically downloaded when a Visa Inspire card is inserted into Google Pay via PBZ digital banking?

In this case, the Google Pay application will be active in the background of the operating system, with no visible icon indicating that the application has been downloaded. The fact that the app icon itself is not visible will not affect the activity of the service itself. If you want to keep track of traffic generated only by Google Pay, you can download the app from the Google Play Virtual Store.

How do I use Google Pay and include a Premium Visa card?

• download the Google Pay app on your Google Play Virtual Store
• to add a card to Google Pay, select "Payment" in the application, then "+ Payment method" (this depends on whether you add the first card to your Google Pay wallet or you already have a card).
• enter the card number, expiration date, and security code (CVC) on your card, and additional information as needed.
• accept the Terms of Service and, if you haven't already, set up a screen lock (activating your device administrator is part of the Google Payments setup process)
• you will receive a one-time password (OTP) via SMS to activate the Google Pay service, which is immediately ready for use. Alternatively, you can contact PBZ Card at (01) 61 24 422 who will (after confirming the user's identity) activate the Google Pay service.
• if you have multiple cards added to the Google Pay service, in the Payment option you need to select the card that will be the default for contactless payment.

Where can I use Google Pay?

Use Google Pay wherever you see the icon when making payments at points of sale, at all points of sale that accept contactless payment with Visa cards, and in online retailers that offer Google Pay.

How to pay via Google Pay?

You don't have to open the Google Pay app to make a payment. Just follow these steps:

Payment up to HRK 100/250* 

• turn on your mobile screen
• place your mobile phone with a POS device at a point of sale that accepts contactless payment with Visa cards

Payment of more than HRK 100/250*

• turn on your mobile screen
• place your mobile phone with a POS device at a point of sale that accepts contactless payment with Visa cards
• after that, you need to authorize the transaction by unlocking the mobile phone  screen (by entering PIN, pattern, Touch ID or Face ID) and again place the mobile phone with the POS device at the point of sale 

* Depending on the settings of the receiving device, at some points of sale it will be necessary to unlock the mobile device for purchase amounts up to HRK 250

What should I do if I lose my mobile phone with PBZ Mobile Banking and Google Pay installed?

In case of loss, theft or misuse of a mobile phone with PBZ mobile banking app installed and Google Pay service, the user shall promptly notify PBZ Card via telephone 01 489 13 33, e-mail at pbz365@pbz.hr, or by visiting the nearest PBZ branch office.

Additionally, in the event of a loss or theft, you can find, lock, or delete your phone using your Android device manager.

If for any reason the Bank replaces my physical card (regular renewal, replacement for damage / alteration of personal data, loss reporting, etc.), should I re-integrate the new card into Google Pay?

If for some reason your Bank has replaced a payment card you registered with the Google Pay application, you still need to re-sign in to the application the same way you did when you first signed up to continue making payments.

Do I need to reactivate Google Pay and enter the card in the app in the event of an upgrade to my mobile device's operating system or the Google Pay application itself?

No reactivation is required. In the event of any upgrade to your Android operating system or Google Pay application, your signed up payment card remains active and ready to use.

When I intergrate a card in the Google Pay mobile app, do I enter into a contractual relationship with Privredna Banka Zagreb or any third party?

You enter into a contractual relationship with Google Ireland Limited and the Bank ie PBZ Card has made it possible to sign up for payment cards with Google Pay.
